Liar by Justine Larbalestier

Hi again, there's probably gonna be more reviews posted in the holidays as i tend to have more time for reading. This time its about Justine Larbalestier's Liar. As always, there will be spoilers in this review, so if you don't want to read those, i suggest you stop here.

This book is centred around seventeen year old Micah, she is living in New York with her parents. Micah is a liar. She has always been a liar, for as long as she can remember. She was born with a hereditary disease, the details of which are the centre of the web of lies she has created. When her boyfriend Zach dies in violent and mysterious circumstances, her web begins to unravel.

I loved this book, the way this was written was incredible, although a minor inconvenience to me at first, because there are no chapters. This was difficult for me because generally i would read a book a few chapters at a time, and that's how i make sure that i don't spend an entire day reading a book, which i know is something that i am very capable of doing. One thing that i did love about the way this book was written was that there is generally a page of writing labelled Before, and then one labelled After. Which i loved because it showed how much Zach meant to Micah, how her entire life is now classified as either Before Zach's Death, or After Zach's Death. I also thought the way there were many, many lies, intertwined into this book was amazing. Micah would tell the story, and then, about half of the book later, Micah would reveal that in fact, part of the story was a lie. I also have to admit that i was in no way expecting the werewolf thing, the first part of the story was incredibly realistic and seemed true to what would be going on in Micah's head, and then all of a sudden it was revealed that Micah is a werewolf. I loved the way that this book slowly uncovered the truth about Micah and Zach. I give this book a 9.8 out of 10.
